FYL is built around leagues: private groups ranked on weekly consistency, plus XP and levels, so a missed week costs you standings, not just a streak emoji. FYL Pro is a third cheaper on every term — $1.99/month, $19.99/year, $69.99 lifetime against Hevy's $2.99/$23.99/$74.99. Both free tiers cap routines at 4; FYL Free keeps 60 days of history while Hevy reserves long-term analytics for Pro. If you never pay, both are genuinely usable. If you do pay, FYL costs less for the core tracking and Hevy charges more but includes its AI trainer.
Where Hevy is simply ahead
Hevy has been at this for years: the community is enormous, Hevy Trainer generates programs for you, and its Wear OS app covers Android watches. FYL now ships on iOS and Android too, but our watch app is Apple Watch only and there's no AI programming — you build your own routines or start from proven templates. If those gaps matter to you today, Hevy is the right call, no spin.
